I got a job!! A real daytime-hours, time-off-giving, sit-at-a-desk-and-do-something-other-than-sell-clothes job. Admittedly, I got the job about a month ago and have only just rediscovered this whole blogging thing. Maybe it'll take this time. Anyway, it's healthcare, which I thought I would never do again, but it's actually surprisingly interesting. I'm learning a lot, and I actually have nights and weekends free, and my coworkers are great. For the first time in a long time, I feel like something at least vaguely resembling an adult. And it's thrilling to know that my parents are probably way less embarrassed to tell their friends what I do now.
In a lot of ways, I'm still getting there. I like my job, but I don't know that it's what I want to do forever. I need to find a hobby again. I should figure out if I want to stay in Tennessee long-term or move somewhere without quite as many tornadoes and Republicans. But this - being stably, gainfully employed and on my way to benefits... This feels like a step in the right direction.
